Trevor S. Potts Recognized for Excellence in Criminal Defense and Civil Litigation

Mr. Potts received Honors from the Thomas Jefferson Law School and certification from the Center for Law and Social Justice

An expert in the legal industry, Mr. Potts had served as principal attorney and the owner of TSP Law until 2017, and now serves as an associate attorney with The Law Office of Dennis W. Potts located in Honolulu, Hawai’i. He has represented clients in a wide range of cases, including DUIs, murders, drug offenses, domestic violence, elder abuse, sex crimes, and firearm offenses. Now his litigation is focused on personal injury and medical malpractice. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as a law clerk with Rockwood and Noziska, LLP, as a California State Certified intern for the San Diego County’s Public Defender’s Office and as a graduate law clerk with the Law Office of Marc S. Kohnen APLC.

Mr. Potts began his career as a student at Marymount California University, obtaining an Associate’s Degree in psychology in 2004. He then joined the University of San Diego to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology in 2008, going on to study law at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he earned a JD and a certificate from the Center for Law and Social Justice in 2014. In addition to his academic degrees, he interned with several firms, including Dennis W. Potts, Attorney at Law, APLC, in 2012, TEST West Football Academy in 2013, and the Law Offices of Gerald Singleton, APC, from 2012 to 2013. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of California and Hawai’i, as well as the federal courts for the Southern District of California and the District of Hawai’i.

A respected voice in the field, Mr. Potts is affiliated with a number of professional organizations, including the Hawai’i State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, Hawai’i Attorneys for Justice, the Native Hawaiian Legal Society, the State Bar of California, the San Diego County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Mr. Potts has been recognized throughout his career for his contributions. He was awarded the Jefferson Medal for Sports Law from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence from the Witkin Legal Institute, the CALI Excellence for the Future Award from the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction, and Honors from the Thomas Jefferson Law School. Looking toward the future, Mr. Potts intends to continue working with his father at his law firm until he eventually takes over ownership upon his father’s retirement.
